Barcino is located in The Fort and is modeled after an old-time Spanish tavern. The owner is a real Spaniard who fell in love with Filipino culture and thus decided to settle here. Its design is inspired by old Madrid and Barcelonan architechture, with wine kegs, barrels, and bottles artfully hung and scattered throughout the interior.
Their specialties include delicious fish sticks with a special kind of sauce, the Spanish staple of appetizing lengua and wonderfully marinated pork spareribs, all infused with the exotic flavors of Spain.
As a bonus, beer is served with a slice of lemon, and the wine is just perfect. Servings are small, however, and cost at least P200 to P300 per dish. However, its wonderful atmosphere and authentic Spanish mood makes you feel as if you have are dining during the late 19th century in Madrid and as such, is the perfect place for a special dinner or a date.
